Why Headbangers Ball VJ doesn't believe Nirvana killed Metal
Dave misses his friend from his youth. I can relate.
I remember being at the Carnival-Party, with a great Rock-Cover-Band playing.... I was like 15 or 16, so 30 Years ago.... that band played 'Killing in the name of' and 'Smells like teen spirit'.... it changed my life....
Interviewer is HORRIBLE wtf
Layne was not sober during Mad Season.
Love how he breezes over meeting Chris cornell for the first time😂 3:12
It only just recently hit me just how tragic and substantial a loss Kurt was. Like I knew it ostensibly all the these years, but the emotional impact only sank in when I heard him talking to the producers and the rest of the band in between songs at the unplugged recording. Like, wow, that was a real guy - a kid really - making one of the biggest contributions to rock music of all time.
This explains a LOT -- while Dave always played the drums with such passion.....like he was protecting his ability to buy his next meal.
Great documentary! 👍🏻
Why the flannel shirts you ask? In Seattle it's cold and rainy about 75% of the year. One shirt isn't enough. You have to be wearing at least a long sleeve flannel also and maybe a coat if you want to stay warm and kinda dry in this rainy city!
One of the greatest song writers ever?!?!.... uh.....NOT!
Soundgarden rules
Punk is born cos rocknroll sell out -ramones-
is MUDHONEY a grunge band ? FUCK NO !!!!
Alison Shame and Lane Stanley are my 2 favorite people ever too.
They all love weed. I’m sure they all rolled one together. Hahahah
It was cool to hear Dave talk about it.
The big question is “did Dave pick up the hit hitch hiker?
The incomparable Layne Stanley. Never heard of him. HUGE fan.
Stanley? He doesn’t even know Laynes name. Bit he’s a big fan ? Huh
OGGOAT where are you? Don’t stop posting, keep going. You’re doing Gods work brother!!!
RIP Andrew Wood. If he hadn’t died his name would be one of the biggest of the Seattle scene. Apple is such a slept on gem of 90’s delight. A tasty, vintage beverage to quench your thirst for sweet Seattle goodness
I smoked my first joint before the 8th dance with my best friend and they played smells like teen spirit and all of us moshed and raged… great night… the next morning on the way to school the radio announced his death.. I remember seeing everyone and I mean everyone looking like they just found out there loved ones had been in a horrible accident…. Hugging, crying the whole deal… and nirvana was and still is my favorite band since the day I played the masterpiece that is Nevermind
I love how jack blacks getting interviewed for Kung fu panda 2 and there like “screw this kiddie movie let’s talk about NIRVANA!” 😂😂😂
You can call me whatever the Fu** YOU WANT, AND i DON'T CARE! I STILL JUST LOVE IT!
I couldn’t keep watching this. How do you mispronounce his name, honestly. No one accidentally says “Eddie Van Hanlen”. I’ll just read/listen to Barrett’s book and get some first hand accounts that way.
He’s so damn handsome to me!! I find him so attractive and real.
I wish I could have met Kurt or Mark so bad. These bands were the reason I picked up a guitar. I’m 34 now and have never met another musician, fing sucks.
🤘🏻

im at lane stayles old apartment in seattle off 46th street
full video link please?
makes me proud to be british seeing how respectful dermot and most uk interviewers are rip kurt:,)
I’m not sure why everyone is shredding this. What did you think you were going to get? Anyhow I enjoyed hearing Duff talk about bumping into Kurt on the plane headed to Seattle. Or Dave Reid’s stories about Kurt sarcastically telling him that he liked Bobby Sherman music and calling him Flanders! lol Good stuff
The interviewer is poser.
That was hilarious when they're talking about recording the record on the major label for far less than what they were paid, "Don't let the label find out..." Then it shows the clip of Mark going, "I'll make money off my famous name one way or another" (with a big smirk on his face).
Equal to any of the great genius artists in history.
I feel dirty after watching this. Tragic.
Poor Dave, losing two band members / brothers to suicide. If you're feeling desperate, please speak to someone.
Right on
I miss record stores. ❤
Thank you for this upload!
I wonder what life is like for those who think its layne staNley. Like all details are just null amd void? Its just ludicrous. Especially if youre a musician .... definitely aint buying that guys sht
I was in 8th grade in 2002. NSYNC Korn limp Bizkit and Eminem.
I was in my early 20’s when the trl stuff was big. I wasn’t into NSYNC but I liked the others
When I first got into nirvana I was like 13. I'd lived less than 6 months alongside Kurt. I became obsessed with the band and the backstory. This was my first experience really falling down a rabbit hole. I felt barely alive. I grieved the loss of him like I'd known him. I had the posters and the merch and I wore my first Nirvana t-shirt so much that it was essentially more holes than fabric at the point where I threw it away. (still wish I didn't) I fr was so depressed cause of Kurt and Dave and Krist... and Frances. I took a near 5 year break before I could listen to the songs again without crying buckets. I for sure would have been one of those people that fell from this world after him.
Justice to bam bam
❤
Killer drummer
that hitchhiker doesn't even know the peace he brought..
Hmm. Odd description. God Bullies are from Michigan not the Pacific Northwest. Never really considered them a grunge band. One of the best bands to come out of the Kalamazoo music scene in my opinion.
Imagine being that hitchhiker in the middle of nowhere in Ireland wearing your Kurt Cobain T-Shirt and just seeing a car go by and think "hold on-- no way... was that??? Dave Grohl just now?"
